Be ready to change your mind. Never before has an author like Ame come along in this century. Even though her poetry is easy to understand, nothing is lost when it comes to the deepness of her message. It is time to banish the myth that great poets are dead, white males. This is the year to change your thinking by getting new perspectives.

Woo Ae's books cover the spectrum of human emotions. If you feel bad, read her angry and sad poems. If you feel good, read her spiritual and uplifting poems. Either way you will feel better, either by finding someone who can relate to your pain or by feeling connected with the world. Even though "Woo" stands for "rain," "Ae" stands for "love." The books in Woo Ae's collection are part of a greater movement toward love and peace. Those who understand the messages Woo Ae conveys will be the new leaders of the love revolution.

ProfilesofKADRelationswiththe BlackCommu

Korean adoptees (KADs) can be a bridge to the Black Lives Matter movement. The Black Lives Matter movement is intended to highlight that in the US Government and in its criminal justice system, Black lives are valued less than white lives. Even though Black Lives Matter is about the Black community, Yi Woo Ae, a Korean adoptee, establishes that our lives are connected as minorities, and even intertwined. KADs, being both white adjacent and Asian, can talk with whites, Asians, and others in a way that supports the movement.

Most of this book is meant to be sung (Lyrics). The last section of this book is meant to be spoken (Verses). Some lyrics have choruses. Some have indications for if a sound should be high or low. For those who are musically inclined, some even have indications of notes. These lyrics and verses may not always rhyme, but if you add music and imagination, you will find that there may be many interpretations of the written word. I have always found reader response to be more interesting than author response because when the author responds it is definitive.

Love, Not Love is Yi Woo Ae's first book. Poems in this volume are separated into two categories: what is love and what is not love. Ai had the idea for this book because she had recently broken up with someone she thought she was going to live her life with. The realization that she was not in love was a huge disappointment to her since they had been together for several years. Soon after, she fell in love again, but wanted to make sure that what they had was true so that she would not be setting herself up for disappointment. She spent a lot of time talking with friends, family, and acquaintances about the definition of love.
